Bathrooms Accessible in Every Situation (BABIES) Act

It is crazy that we need an Act to ensure that bathrooms are accessible in every situation but let it not be said that Obama just ignored the need as so many presidents before him.  Just in the nick of time too.  Thanks to his timely action, the men save face and can be satisfied that it did not need to wait for a woman president to make sure that they had a place to change babies diapers in public restrooms.

Cloth or synthetic diapers?

Cloth Diapers Vs Synthetic Diapers: My husband feels it is quite strenuous to deal with washing and drying the cloth diapers. I feel, at least during the day time, it would be nice to use to a cloth diaper to develop a bonding and increase the baby’s communication with the parents.

I have never met a baby who liked to sit in his own waste. Not for a moment. I have often stood by helplessly as I saw babies protest having a diaper put on them.  My husband and I used diapers for months before recognizing, in retrospect, all the signals our baby was giving us to keep the diaper off and allow her to relieve herself in peace and with dignity. How many / what kind of cloth diapers?

Have you used cloth diapers? Which brands did you like? There are so many that it is hard to make a choice. How many will I need if I plan on washing every other day?

Babies get so many adorable outfits – but is there time to wear them before they outgrow them? And what about the eyebrow of grandma, poised to rise sharply if anything spills on them … and hence the cute bibs, some hand-embroidered by the same grandma, and equally guarded by her glance.

Along come cloth diapers. Will baby wear them? Yes! Definitely! Many, every day! Can they get wet / dirty? yes! They certainly will! Many times, every day!

Cloth diapers have become a cottage industry among moms and dads ready to share the love, their skills and earn some income while keeping the bottoms comfy (and pretty!) and the planet a little greener. Read the rest of this entry »
